Five Women in New Administrative Positions in Higher Education

Angela Blanton was named vice president for finance and chief financial officer at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. She joined the staff at the university in 2015 as director of operations in the university’s finance division. Before joining the staff at the university, Blanton was the chief financial officer for the brokerage investment division of PNC Financial Services.

Blanton holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan. She holds an MBA from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University.

Betsy Asserson was appointed director of counseling and psychological services at Montana State University. She joined the counseling and psychological services staff at the university in 2001.

Dr. Asserson is a native of Grand Forks, North Dakota. She is a graduate of Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, and earned a Ph.D. in counseling psychology from the University of Pittsburgh.

Katrina Briscoe was promoted to assistant director of athletics for compliance and student athlete services at Alcorn State University in Mississippi. She has been on the staff at the athletics department for the past two years. Earlier, she was a compliance coordinator at Oregon State University.

Briscoe is a graduate of Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she majored in physical education. She holds a master’s degree in sport management from High Point University in North Carolina.

Sara Judge was appointed deputy vice president for development at Princeton University in New Jersey. She was global director at Avenues: The World School. Earlier, she was president of the China Institute.

Judge is a 1982 graduate of Princeton University, where she majored in East Asian studies and Chinese.

Pilar Prather was named program manager for Interprofessional Education and Inter-Institutional Collaborative Learning for the Meharry-Vanderbilt Alliance. She was program coordinator for the master of science in public health program at Meharry Medical College.

Prather is a graduate of Murray State University in Kentucky, where she majored in business administration. She holds a master’s degree in education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Jennie Sanders to Lead Academic Affairs at Purdue Global

Most recently, Dr. Sanders served as vice president of experiential product management and interim vice president of product and technology at Western Governors University.

Assistant Professor of Biology (Two Tenure-Track Positions)
