Anne Prescott Earns Book Award from the Association for Asian Studies

Anne Prescott, director of the Five College Center for East Asian Studies in Amherst, Massachusetts, has been awarded the 2017 Franklin R. Buchanan Prize from the Association for Asian Studies. The annual prize recognizes an outstanding curriculum publication on Asia designed for any educational level.
Dr. Prescott was honored for her book East Asia in the World: An Introduction (Routledge, 2015). She served as editor for the volume and wrote six of its 17 chapters. Dr. Prescott holds a Ph.D. in musicology and ethnomusicology from Kent State University in Ohio.
The Five Colleges is a consortium of educational institutions that cooperate in a number of areas including student and faculty exchanges. The participating institutions are the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Amherst College, Mount Holyoke College, Hampshire College, and Smith College.
