New Certificate Program in Leadership Effectiveness for Women at the University of Arkansas

The University of Arkansas at Fayetteville has announced the establishment of the Women’s Personal Leadership Effectiveness Program. The new initiative will be an 11-week certificate program that will begin this fall. Participants will take classes each Wednesday and participate in online sessions. To be eligible, women need to have been employed for three years and to have been a mid-level manager for at least one year.

The program is designed to help women develop and strengthen skills important to professional and personal success. Women who enroll in the program will:

• Learn about the 10 character-based principles that impact personal and professional success.
• Hear professional women speak about the impact these principles have had on their personal and professional lives. In-person class sessions will also serve as networking sessions for participants.
• Meet with assigned personal coaches to complete a personal and professional life plan.

Becky Paneitz

The program was developed and is led by Becky Paneitz and Pat Bailey. Paneitz is president emerita of NorthWest Arkansas Community College. Bailey is provost and vice chancellor emerita at Arkansas State University in Mountain Home.
