Annette Ranft Named Dean of the Business School at North Carolina State University

annette_ranftAnnette F. Ranft has been selected as the next dean of the Poole College of Management at North Carolina State University in Raleigh. Currently, Dr. Ranft is the Reagan Professor of Business and the senior associate dean of academic affairs at the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee. She will begin her new job at North Carolina State University on July 1.

Dr. Ranft is a graduate of Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, where she majored in mathematics. She earned a master’s degree in management at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta and a doctorate in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

“As an eighth-generation North Carolinian and the first in my family to attend college,” Professor Ranft said, “I am deeply indebted to the North Carolina system of higher education and the access to education that was afforded to me in the state. I was particularly drawn to this position as it provided an opportunity to contribute back to the state and to the system that was core to my own education and personal and professional development.”
