Patty B. Scharko, a professor of animal and veterinary sciences and a field and extension veterinarian at Clemson University in South Carolina, is the new leader of the American Association of Small Ruminant Practitioners. The organization provides services to veterinarians who work with sheep, goats, elk, deer, and other small ruminants. The association is headquartered in Montgomery, Alabama.
Before coming to Clemson University in 2008, for 13 years Dr. Scharko was an extension veterinarian for the University of Kentucky.
Dr. Scharko earned a bachelor’s degree and a doctorate in veterinary medicine at the University of Georgia. She also holds a master of public health degree from the University of North Carolina.
With more than 30 years of experience in higher education, Dr. Richtermeyer has spent the past three years as executive vice chancellor for academic affairs and provost at Rutgers University-Camden
Cheryl Norman was appointed president of Ridgewater College in Minnesota and Ellen Kennedy was named interim president of Cape Cod Community College in Massachusetts.
Dr. Scarlatta has led the University of Michigan-Dearbon on an interim basis for the past year. Pending approval from the board of regents, she is slated to become the university's permanent leader on May 22.
Nicole Reaves has been serving as executive vice president and chief programs officer at Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, North Carolina. On July 15, she is slated to become the first woman president of Schenectady County Community College within the State University of New York System.
The selected candidate should have expertise and experience in theoretical models in labor and public economics as well as in microeconometrics and programming.
