In Memoriam: Sheree Lynette Faulk Watson, 1956-2015

Sheree Watson, an associate professor of psychology at the University of Southern Mississippi, died on June 9 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She was 58 years old and had suffered from breast cancer.

A native of Palm Beach, Florida, Dr. Watson graduated from high school in Biloxi, Mississippi. She earned a bachelor’s degree at Mississippi State University and a Ph.D. at the University of Memphis.

Dr. Watson joined the faculty at the University of Southern Mississippi in 2003. Previously, she served on the faculty of Jackson State University in Mississippi. Her research focused on the behavior of the Garnett’s bushbaby, a small prosimian primate.
