Four Women Promoted to Full Professor at the University of Georgia

The University of North Georgia in Dahlonega has announced the promotion of four women to full professor.

Elisa Carlson was named professor of theatre and granted tenure. She joined the faculty in 2010 after teaching at the University of Minnesota and Emory University in Atlanta. Professor Carlson is a graduate of Florida State University and holds a master of fine arts degree in acting from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Terrie Millard was appointed professor of physical therapy. Dr. Millard is a board certified pediatric physical therapist. She joined the faculty at the university in 2005. Professor Millard is a graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia. She holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in physical therapy from Emory University.

Elaine Taylor was promoted to full professor of nursing. Dr. Taylor is a certified pediatric nurse practitioner who has been on the university’s faculty since 2001. Professor Taylor graduated with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the Medical College of Georgia. She holds a master’s degree from Emory University and a doctor in health sciences from Nova Southeastern University.

Karen Briggs was named professor of mathematics.
