The Shenango campus of Pennsylvania State University in Sharon near the Ohio border has announced the hiring of four women to its faculty.
Tamrya d’Artenay was named an instructor in biology. For the past three years, she was a visiting assistant professor of biology at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa. Dr. d’Artenay is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, where she majored in integrative biology. She earned a Ph.D. in plant biology from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.
Tammy Divens was hired as an instructor in occupational therapy. She had been an adjunct professor and served for 17 years at the Sharon Regional Health System. Divens is a graduate of Ohio State University, where she majored in occupational therapy. She holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from Concordia University.
Joan Humphrey appointed instructor in nursing. She has been an adjunct faculty member at the university since 2001 and also has been adjunct professor at Youngstown State University in Ohio. She holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in public health education from Youngstown State University and a doctor of nursing practice degree from the University of Massachusetts.
Kathy Shaffer was named instructor of chemistry. She was an adjunct instructor of chemistry at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Shaffer earned a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh. She conducted postdoctoral research at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
