The College of Creative Arts at West Virginia University in Morgantown has announced the addition of seven new faculty members for the current academic year. Three of the appointees are women.
Terese Giobbia was hired as an assistant professor of art and coordinator of art education in the School of Art and Design. She had taught art education at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. Dr. Giobbia is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She holds a master degree and a doctorate in art education from Northern Illinois University.
Amy Schissel was named assistant professor of painting in the School of Art and Design. Schissel was a finalist in the 2011 RBC Canadian Painting Competition and her works are displayed in museums and other public spaces throughout the world. She holds a bachelor’s degree and a master of fine arts degree from the University of Ottawa in Canada.
Andrea Washington-Brown is a new clinical assistant professor of costuming in the School of Theatre and Dance. Previously, she was an assistant professor of costume technology at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She has designed costumes for the theatre departments at Bowling Green State University in Ohio, Wayne State University in Detroit, and Princeton University in New Jersey. Washington-Brown is a graduate of the University of Memphis. She holds a master of fine arts degree from Wayne State University.
With more than 30 years of experience in higher education, Dr. Richtermeyer has spent the past three years as executive vice chancellor for academic affairs and provost at Rutgers University-Camden
Cheryl Norman was appointed president of Ridgewater College in Minnesota and Ellen Kennedy was named interim president of Cape Cod Community College in Massachusetts.
Dr. Scarlatta has led the University of Michigan-Dearbon on an interim basis for the past year. Pending approval from the board of regents, she is slated to become the university's permanent leader on May 22.
Nicole Reaves has been serving as executive vice president and chief programs officer at Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, North Carolina. On July 15, she is slated to become the first woman president of Schenectady County Community College within the State University of New York System.
The selected candidate should have expertise and experience in theoretical models in labor and public economics as well as in microeconometrics and programming.
