Two Women Stepping Down From High-Level University Posts

KarinKarin Wittenborg, university librarian and dean of libraries at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville has announced that she is retiring this December after 21 years as head of the university’s libraries. She currently oversees 12 university libraries with a staff of more than 230 people.

Before coming to the University of Virginia in 1993, she held library posts at the University of California, Los Angeles, Stanford University, MIT, and the State University of New York. Wittenborg is a graduate of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, and holds a master of library science degree from the University at Buffalo of the State University of New York system.

LynnDornLynn Dorn, the director of women’s athletics at North Dakota State University, has announced that she will retire on March 15, 2015. During her tenure as director of women’s athletics, the university’s teams have won seven national championships and 98 league championships.

Dorn is a graduate of Bemidji State University in Minnesota. She holds a master’s degree n physical education from the University of Minnesota.
