Two Women to Lead Community Colleges in Connecticut

sealThe board of regents for higher education in the state of Connecticut has announced the appointment of two women as presidents of community colleges in the state system.

Carlee Drummer was named president of Quinebaug Valley Community College in Danielson. The college, in the northeast corner of the state, enrolls about 2,100 students. Women make up 63 percent of the student body.

Dr. Drummer has been serving as executive director of college advancement and executive director of the educational foundation at Oakton Community College in Illinois. She has been on the staff at Oakton since 2001.

Dr. Drummer is a magna cum laude graduate of Wittenberg University in Ohio. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from Stony Brook University of the State University of New York system.

JukoskiMary Ellen Jukoski was appointed president of Three Rivers Community College in Norwich. This college enrolls nearly 5,000 students with women making up 59 percent of the student body.

Dr. Jukoski is the former president of Mitchell College in New London, Connecticut. Earlier she held administrative posts at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, Loretto Heights College in Denver, the University of Memphis, and Empire State College in Saratoga Springs, New York.

A graduate of the College of St. Rose in Albany, New York, Dr. Jukoski holds a master’s degree from the State University of New York and an educational doctorate from the University of Memphis.
