Mitchell College in New London, Connecticut, Hires a Business Executive as Its Next President

Janet-Steinmayer-thumbJanet L. Steinmayer was selected as the seventh president of Mitchell College in New London, Connecticut. The college enrolls about 850 students and men make up a majority of the student body. She will take office on July 1.

Steinmayer is the founder and chief executive officer of Appleseed Food Frontiers. Prior to launching Appleseed, she was the president and CEO of Centerplate, Inc., the fifth largest food service company in North America, with over $800 million in revenues and 28,000 employees.

Steinmayer also has experience in higher education serving on the board of visitors of the John F. Welch School of Business at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, and on the board of trustees of Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania.

Steinmayer is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College and the University of Chicago Law School.
