Staci Martin Named Sole Finalist for Presidency of Kilgore College in Texas

Following nearly six months of service as interim president, Staci Martin has been named the sole finalist for the permanent presidency of Kilgore College in Texas. The community college enrolls over 6,000 students, 60 percent of whom are women.

“I am deeply honored by the board’s confidence and grateful for the opportunity to continue serving Kilgore College in this role,” said Dr. Martin. “KC has a strong tradition of student success and community impact, and I look forward to working alongside our faculty, staff and community partners to build on that momentum and lead the college into its next chapter.”

Before becoming Kilgore’s interim president on November 1, 2025, Dr. Martin served as the college’s vice president of organizational effectiveness and excellence. Since joining the Kilgore administration in 2001, she has served in numerous leadership roles, including vice president of student life and college affairs, vice president of student services, vice president of institutional planning, registrar, and director of admissions. Throughout her long tenure, she has led multiple campus-wide initiatives, including service as liaison to both the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

Dr. Martin received her bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Texas A&M University-College Station and her master’s degree in the same discipline from Texas A&M University-Texarkana. She earned her doctorate in higher education from Texas Tech University, where her research focused on dual credit in Texas community colleges.
