Two Women Awarded Tenure at Hamilton College

Hamilton College, the highly rated liberal arts educational institution in Clinton, New York, has announced the awarding of tenure to three faculty members. Two of the three scholars awarded tenure are women.

joana SNJoana Sabadell-Nieto was awarded tenure and promoted to full professor of Hispanic studies. She specializes in modern Spanish literature with an emphasis on feminist and gender theory. She also serves as a researcher at the Women and Literature Center of the University of Barcelona.

Professor Sabadell-Nieto is a graduate of the University of Navarra in Spain. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.

terrell2Katherine H. Terrell was awarded tenure and named associate professor of English. Her research is focused on Middle English and Middle Scottish literature. She is the co-editor of The Anglo-Scottish Border and the Shaping of Identity, 1300-1600 (Palgrave Macmillan, 2012).

Dr. Terrell holds master’s degrees from the University of Toronto and Oxford University. She earned a Ph.D. in 2005 at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
