Adela de la Torre was appointed vice chancellor for student affairs at the University of California at Davis. She has been serving in the post on an interim basis for the past year. She is a professor and director of the department of Chicano/a studies at the university. She is the co-editor of Building with Our Hands: New Directions in Chicana Studies (University of California Press, 1993).
Dr. De la Torre is an agricultural economist. She is the former director of the Mexican American Studies & Research Center at the University of Arizona. She holds bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California at Berkeley.
Alice Kinsler was named interim director of the International Quilt Study Center and Museum at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. She is the former president and CEO of the Hospice Foundation in Monterey, California.
Kinsler is a graduate of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. She holds a master’s degree in human relations from Golden Gate University and a second master’s degree in textile history from the University of Nebraska.
Marie Blakey was promoted to executive director of academic communications at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. She has been serving as senior director of communications and marketing for the university’s College of Arts and Letters.
A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Blakey previously held administrative positions at Mount St. Mary’s College and Loyola Marymount College, both in Los Angeles.

Dr. Edmonds holds a Ph.D. from the School of Development Studies of the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England.

Buehler is a graduate of the State University of New York at Geneseo, holds an MBA from the University of Rochester, and is a certified public accountant.

Dr. Curry is a graduate of Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green. She holds a master’s degree in human development counseling from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, and a doctorate in counselor education from the University of Central Florida in Orlando.

Martinez-Forman is enrolled in the doctoral program in occupational and adult education at North Dakota State University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in college student affairs administration from Indiana University.

Dr. Barroso is a graduate of Florida State University. She holds a master’s degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa and a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Shapiro is a professor of sociology at the University of California Santa Cruz. She holds a Ph.D. in economics from Yale University.

Carbary holds bachelor’s degrees from Wells College in Aurora, New York, and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. She earned an MBA from Kent State University in Ohio.
