Five Women Faculty Appointed to New Positions at Universities

Sandra Leiterman has been promoted to cybersecurity education research professor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She currently serves as director of the university’s Trojan Cyber Arena and an adjunct professor of computer science. Prior to joining the university’s staff in 2015, she taught middle school math and science in Little Rock for five years.

Professor Leiterman holds a bachelor’s degree in middle school math and science education from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, a master’s degree in digital teaching and learning from Kansas State University, and a Ph.D. in urban education with an emphasis on math education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Lauren Bullock has been named director of the new major in sports media at Temple University in Philadelphia. With over 12 years of teaching and industry experience, she currently serves as an assistant professor of instruction in Temple’s Klein College of Media and Communication. Earlier in her career, she held roles with ESPN’s Wide World of Sports, Florida State University, and the University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Bullock holds a bachelor’s degree in sport and recreation management from Temple University, a master’s degree in sport administration from Florida State University, and a Ph.D. in leadership and change from Antioch University.

Sydne Record has been appointed executive director of UMS TRANSFORMS Student Success and Retention, a University of Maine System initiative. She has served as an associate professor of land conservation in the University of Maine’s department of wildlife, fisheries, and conservation biology for the past two years. Previously, she was the associate provost and associate professor of quantitative ecology at Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania.

Dr. Record is a graduate of the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. She holds a Ph.D. in plant biology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Laura Zanotti has been named director of the School of Environment and Sustainability and professor of anthropology at the University of Cincinnati. She comes to her new role from Purdue University in Indiana, where she was a professor of anthropology, graduate director of the anthropology department, and associate director of the Center for the Environment.

Dr. Zanotti received her bachelor’s degree in anthropology, English, and creative writing from Colgate University in Hamilton, New York. She holds a master’s degree and Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of Washington.

Jamillah Williams has been named the inaugural associate vice president of gender equity and chair of the Gender Equity Committee at Georgetown University. In addition to her new administrative responsibilities, she will continue to serve as a professor with Georgetown Law, where she specializes in anti-discrimination law.

Dr. Williams received her bachelor’s degree in business from Georgetown University and her master’s degree in education from the University of Michigan. She holds a juris doctorate and a Ph.D. in sociology from Stanford University.

Two Women Selected for Key Interim Leadership Roles with the Universities of Wisconsin

Renée Wachter, chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Superior, has been selected to serve as interim president of the Universities of Wisconsin. Maria Cuzzo, provost of UW-Superior, will serve as the university's interim chancellor while Dr. Wachter assumes her new responsibilities.
