Ahniwake Rose Appointed President and CEO of the American Indian Higher Education Consortium

Ahniwake Rose has been named president and chief executive officer for the American Indian Higher Education Consortium effective July 1.

The American Indian Higher Education Consortium is an organization dedicated to advancing tribal colleges and universities by advocating for supportive policies and resources, promoting tribal representation, and fostering collaboration among tribal colleges and other institutions.

Rose has been with the American Indian Higher Education Consortium for the past year, serving as vice president of congressional and federal relations. She has two decades of experience in public policy leadership. Prior to her current role, she served as executive director of the Oklahoma Policy Institution. She previously served as executive director for the National Congress of American Indians and executive director of the National Indian Education Association.

Rose holds a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University and a master’s degree from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
