Chio Flores Appointed President of the Puyallup Campus of Pierce College in Washington State

Chio Flores will be the president of the Puyallup campus of Pierce College in Washington State, effective June 1. The two campuses of Pierce College enroll just over 7,300 students, according to the most recent data from the U.S. Department of Education. Women make up 64 percent of the student body.

“I am excited and honored to join Pierce College’s highly gifted and dedicated faculty and staff,” Dr. Flores said. “I am eager to work alongside Pierce’s amazing team as we advance the college’s anti-racism efforts to better serve the community and most importantly, our students.”

Dr. Flores currently serves as vice president for student services and enrollment management at Wenatchee Valley College in Wenatchee, Washington. Earlier, she held a variety of positions at Eastern Washington University and Washington State University in the areas of admissions, registration, financial aid, and student services administration.

The eldest child of parents who migrated to Washington from the Rio Grande Valley and Mexico, Dr. Flores holds a bachelor’s degree in business and an MBA from Eastern Washington University. She earned a Ph.D. in higher education administration from Washington State University.
