The New Chancellor of the Anderson Campus of Ivy Tech Community College in Indiana

Ivy Tech Community College has named Mia D. Johnson as chancellor for its Anderson campus. She has served as interim chancellor since July.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as the Chancellor of Ivy Tech’s Anderson campus,” said Dr. Johnson. “Over the last 10 years, our community has evolved and I know as we work to grow the campus, this team will be dedicated to ensuring student success. We are committed to providing students the skills necessary to further their education or go directly into the workforce. Education is the catalyst that helps communities thrive. I am passionate about ensuring that Ivy Tech is a strategic community partner. We will collaborate with our local schools, employer partners, and community officials. We are committed to doing whatever it takes to make sure this campus flourishes.”

Before being named interim chancellor this past summer, Dr. Anderson was vice chancellor for academic affairs at the Muncie campus of Ivy Tech. She has been with Ivy Tech for more than 12 years. In addition to her administrative duties. Dr. Johnson is an associate professor of psychology and human services at Ivy Tech.

Dr. Johnson is a native of Muncie, Indiana. She graduated from Ivy Tech Community College in 2003 and then went on a bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She holds a master’s degree in psychology from the University of Phoenix and a Ph.D. in global leadership with a higher education concentration from the Indiana Institute of Technology.
