Six Women Who Have Been Appointed to Diversity Posts at Colleges and Universities

Robin R. Means Coleman has been named vice president and associate provost for diversity and inclusion and chief diversity officer at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Dr. Coleman has been serving as vice president and associate provost for diversity and a professor in the department of communication at Texas A&M University.

Dr. Coleman received a bachelor’s degree in communications from what is now Chatham University in Pittsburgh. She earned a master’s degree in communications from the University of Missouri and a Ph.D. in mass communications from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.

Lisa Guerrero was appointed associate vice provost for inclusive excellence at Washington State University. She is a professor of comparative ethnic studies in the School of Languages, Cultures, and Race at the university. Dr. Guerrero joined the faulty in 2004.

Dr. Guerrero is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she majored in English and Black studies. She holds a Ph.D. in literature from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Jasmine A. Lee, director of inclusive excellence in the division of student affairs at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, was given the added duties as director of the university’s Initiatives for Identity, Inclusion and Belonging. She is the former director of student success at Michigan State University.

Dr. Lee is a graduate of Eastern Michigan Univerity, where she majored in social work. She holds a master of social work degree from the Univerity of Michigan and a Ph.D. in higher education administration from Michigan State University.

Andreá Williams, an associate professor of English at Ohio State University, was recently appointed as the new director of The Women’s Place at the university. The unit is dedicated to achieving greater equity for women at Ohio State.

Dr. Williams is a graduate of Spelman College in Atlanta. She earned a Ph.D. at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Yolanda Caldwell is the new chief diversity officer at the College of St. Rose in Albany, New York. She will continue to serve as the director of the Women’s Leadership Institute and BOLD Women’s Leadership Network at the college.

Caldwell is a graduate of Seton Hall University in New Jersey, where she majored in marketing. She earned a master’s degree in social and public policy at Empire State College of the State University of New York System.

Tiffany Hayden has been named assistant athletics director for diversity, equity, and inclusion at the University of Kentucky. For the past 11 years, she has served as a counselor in the Athletics Center for Academic and Tutorial Services at the university.

Hayden is a graduate of the University of Kentucky, where she majored in health science. She earned an MBA from Sullivan University in Louisville and a master’s degree in higher education from the University of Louisville.
