Young has served as Rock Valley’s chief operating officer since December 2019, and as the college’s chief financial officer since 2016. Before arriving at Rock Valley College, Young was the dean of business affairs at Kishwaukee College in Malta, Illinois. She held that post for more than seven years. Young began her career as a math teacher at Burbank High School in California.

Young is a graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington, where she majored in secondary mathematics education. She holds an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management at DeVry University. She is the president-elect of Community College Business Officers, an organization dedicated to continuing education for community college business officers.
