New Administrative Positions for Eight Women in Higher Education

Mary-Alice Ozechoski is the new vice president for enrollment management at Alvernia University in Reading, Pennsylvania. Before joining the staff at Alvernia, Ozechoski served since 2013 as vice president for enrollment management and student affairs at Cedar Crest College in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Ozechoski holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in counseling and student personnel services from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.

Felecia Pittman is the new director of career services at Alcorn State University in Mississippi. She is a former chemist for Shell Oil and an educational consultant specializing in STEM fields.

Pittman earned a bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from Grambling State University in Louisiana. She holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, and currently is pursuing a doctorate from Texas A&M University-Commerce.

Candace Boeninger has been named interim vice provost for enrollment management at Ohio University. Since 2016, Boeninger has served as associate vice provost for strategic enrollment management and director of undergraduate admissions. She has been on the staff at the university since 2002.

Boeninger is a graduate of Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, where she majored in English language and literature. She holds a master’s degree in English from the University of Tennessee

Carol Lynnett Bennett, has been named assistant provost for diversity and inclusion at Youngstown State University in Ohio. She has been serving as assistant dean and director of diversity and inclusion at Truman State University in Missouri. She will begin her new duties on October 16.

Bennett holds a bachelor’s degree in Africana studies from Martin University in Indianapolis. She earned a master’s degree in African American studies from Indiana University and is pursuing a doctorate in educational leadership and policy from the University of Missouri.

Anne-Marie Szmyt has been named associate vice president for human resources at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. She has been serving as senior director of human resources and administrative services at Massachusetts Municipal Wholesale Electric Company.

Dr. Szmyt earned her bachelor’s degree in health administration from Providence College in Rhode Island. She holds a master’s degree in education from Springfield College in Massachusetts and a doctoral degree from American International College in Springfield.

Stephanie Sims is the new director of the University Museum and Cultural Center at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. She was the personal archivist for former President Bill Clinton.

Sims obtained a bachelor’s degree in visual arts at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. She holds a master’s degree in public history from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Melissa Jensen was appointed the executive assistant to the president at Boise State University in Idaho. She was the executive assistant to the vice president and chief financial officer at the university.

Jensen has been a staff member at the university since 2004. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communication from Boise State University.

Janae Due was appointed assistant director of the Anderson Freeman Resource Center at Middlebury College in Vermont. The center is focused on serving the needs of students from traditionally underrepresented groups. Due was the equity and social justice coordinator at the Margaret Sloss Center for Women and Gender Equity at Iowa State University.

Due holds a bachelor’s degree in creative writing and women’s and gender studies from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. She earned a master’s degree in student affairs from Iowa State University.
