Jann Luciana Joseph Will Be the Next President of Georgia Gwinnett College

Jann Luciana Joseph has been named president of Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville. The college enrolls more than 12,000 students. women make up 56 percent of the student body. Dr. Joseph will assume her new duties on July 1, 2019.

Currently, Dr. Joseph serves as interim chancellor of Indiana University South Bend. She was executive vice chancellor for academic affairs at IU South Bend before she was asked to step into her current interim role. Earlier in her career, she served as dean of the College of Education at Eastern Michigan University. She also held various roles at Grand Valley State University in Michigan including associate dean for professional development and administration in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, program coordinator for an integrated science education program, and faculty member in the department of biology.

“I want to thank the Board of Regents, Chancellor Wrigley, and the search committee for their confidence in me to be the next president of Georgia Gwinnett College,” said Dr. Joseph. “I feel like I belong at GGC and my experience and leadership skills are a perfect fit. I look forward to getting to know the campus and community as we work together to help our students on the path to lifelong learning.”

Dr. Joseph holds a bachelor’s degree in agriculture and a master’s degree in plant science both from the University of the West Indies in St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago, and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction (science education) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
