Sandra J. Doran Appointed to Lead Salem Academy and College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina

The new interim president of Salem Academy and CollegeThe board of trustees of Salem Academy and College, a liberal arts educational institution for women in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, has announced that Sandra J. Doran will serve as interim president while a nationwide search is conducted to find a permanent president. She will take office on May 1.

Salem College enrolls more than 900 graduate students and about 150 graduate students, according to the most recent data reported by the U.S. Department of Education.

Most recently, Doran has served as national program director of the New England Board of Higher Education and as entrepreneur-in-residence at the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey. Earlier, she was chief of staff, vice president, and general counsel at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Doran is a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where she majored in political science. She holds a juris doctorate from the Syracuse University College of Law in New York.
