Saint Mary’s College in Moraga, California, Names Its Next Provost

Margaret Kasimatis has been appointed provost and vice president of academic affairs at St. Mary’s College in Moraga, California. Dr. Kasimatis will take office on February 1.

The college located east of San Francisco, enrolls about 2,800 undergraduate students and 1,110 graduate students. Women make up 60 percent of the undergraduate student body.

For the past 11 years, Dr. Kasimatis has served as vice provost for strategic planning and educational effectiveness at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. She also held a tenured faculty post in the department of educational leadership at the university. Earlier, she held administrative pots at Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California, and California State Polytechnic University.

Dr. Kasimatis is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University, where she majored in psychology. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in social psychology from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.
