Three faculty members at Indiana University in Bloomington have been appointed to associate vice provost positions in the Office of the Vice Provost for Diversity and Inclusion.
Dionne Danns was appointed vice provost for institutional diversity. She is chair of the department of educational leadership and policy studies and an associate professor in the School of Education. Dr. Danns is a historian of African American education. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in history from Western Illinois University in Macomb. Dr Danns earned a Ph.D. in educational policy studies from the University of Illinois.
Stephanie Li is the new associate provost for faculty development and diversity. She holds the Susan Gubar Chair in Literature in the department of English. Professor Li is a scholar of African American history. She is a graduate of Stanford University and holds a master of fine arts degree in creative writing and a Ph.D. from Cornell University.
Mary Murphy, an associate professor in the department of psychological and brain science, was named vice provost for student diversity and inclusion. Her research is focused on first-generation and underrepresented students. Dr. Murphy is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. She earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from Stanford University.
