Widener University Names Its Next Provost

Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania, has named Dale Scalise-Smith as the next provost of the educational institution, effective in August. She will oversee academic programs at the main campus and at the university’s law schools in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and Wilmington, Delaware.
Dr. Scalise-Smith has been serving as dean of the College of Health Professions at Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights. Before taking that job in 2015, she was vice president of the School for Online & Extended Studies and External Partnerships at Utica College in New York.
Dr. Scalise-Smith is a graduate of Northeastern University in Boston. She holds a master’s degree in physical therapy and a Ph.D. in education from the University of North Carolina. She also holds a doctor of physical therapy degree from Utica College.
