New Academic Programs at Ursuline College in Ohio

Ursuline CollegeUrsuline College, the liberal arts educational institution for women in Pepper Pike, Ohio, is offering new academic programs in nursing, education and pre-law this fall.

The college is now offering a master’s degree nursing program in adult gerontology acute care. A bachelor’s degree in nursing and one-year of nursing experience in an acute-care setting is required for admission into the program.

Ursuline College is also offering a six-year, joint bachelor’s degree and law degree program in conjunction with the law school at Cleveland State University. Under this program, the student’s senior year at Ursuline will also be their first year at law school.

A new licensure program for individuals seeking careers as school superintendents is also being offered at the college. Students enrolling in this program will study leadership and management, curriculum and instruction, personnel and resource management, contract and state law, fundraising, and educational theory.

devinneDr. Christine De Vinne, president of Ursuline College, stated that “Ursuline continues to be an innovator in education. Our new academic programs respond to very real needs in our society.” Dr. De Vinne was named president of the college last year. She is an alumna of Ursuline College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. President De Vinne holds a master’s degree from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana and a Ph.D. in English literature from Ohio State University.
