Kathleen Rose Appointed President of Gavilan College in Gilroy, California

Kathleen Rose, the new president of Gavilan CollegeThe board of trustees of the Gavilan Joint Community College District has appointed Kathleen Rose as the next president of Gavilan College in Gilroy, California. The college enrolls about 5,500 students and women make up 53 percent of the student body.

Dr. Rose has been serving as executive vice president and chief instruction officer at Galivan College for the past seven years. Previously, she was vice president of instruction and dean of fine arts, language arts, and social sciences at Hartnell College in Salinas, California.

Dr. Rose is a graduate of the State University of New York at Genesco, where she majored in English and elementary education. She holds a master’s degree in counseling and guidance and a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Arizona.
