Three Women Scholars Will Begin 2016 in New Dean Posts

evansAngela Evans was named dean of the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin. She has served as a clinical professor at the school since 2009. Professor Evans is the former deputy director of the Congressional Research Service.

Professor Evans is a summa cum laude graduate of Canisius College in Buffalo, New York, where she majored in sociology and psychology. She holds a master’s degree in experimental psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

bilger_editedAudrey Bilger was named dean at Pomona College in Claremont, California. She will also hold the title of vice president for academic affairs. Dr. Bilger has been serving as a professor of literature at Claremont McKenna College, where she was the founding director of the Center for Writing and Public Discourse. She is the author of Here Come the Brides! Reflections on Lesbian Love and Marriage (Seal Press, 2012).

Dr. Bilger is a graduate of Oklahoma State University, where she majored in philosophy. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in English from the University of Virginia.

Jenna+Crabb_thmbJenna Crabb was appointed interim dean of students at the University of New Mexico. For the past eight years, she has served as director of career services in the Office of Student Affairs. Dr. Crabb has been on the university’s staff for more than 20 years.

Dr. Crabb holds a Ph.D. in counselor education with a concentration in organizational learning and instructional design from the University of New Mexico.
