Mary Way Bolt Named President of Cecil College in Maryland

Mary Way Bolt has been named president of the Cecil College. She will be the first woman president of the college and the first graduate of the college to be named president. Cecil College is a two-year, public institution located just south of the Mason-Dixon Line in North East, Maryland. The college enrolls about 2,600 students. Women make up 62 percent of the student body.
Dr. Bolt has been serving as interim president since November 2014. Previously, she was vice president for academic programs. She has served on the faculty and/or the administrative staff at the college since 1990.
Dr. Bolt earned an associate’s degree in nursing at Cecil College and went on to complete a bachelor’s degree at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She holds a master’s degree in community health from the University of Maryland, Baltimore and a doctorate in higher education leadership from Widener University.
