Betty Young Named the Third President of Hocking College in Ohio

youngBetty Young was appointed the third president of Hocking College in Nelsonville, Ohio. The two-year college, located southeast of Columbus, enrolls about 4,100 students. Women make up 51 percent of the student body. Dr. Young has served in the post on an interim basis since October 2014.

Dr. Young has served as president of three other community colleges: Northwest State Community College in Archbold, Ohio, Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College in North Carolina and the Coleman College for Health Sciences of Houston Community College.

Dr. Young holds bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees from Ohio University in Athens. She earned a juris doctorate and a degree in business law from Capital University Law School in Columbus.
