Dr. Parker's background in higher education spans two decades. She served as Washington College of Ohio's vice president of academic affairs for six years and was academic dean at Hocking College in Ohio.
Dr. Young has served in the post on an interim basis since October 2014. Previously, she was president of three other community colleges. President Young holds three degrees from Ohio University and two law degrees from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio.
Betty Young was named interim president of Hocking College in Nelsonville, Ohio. The two-year college, located southeast of Columbus, enrolls about 4,100 students. Women make up 51 percent of the student body.
