Kanwal Singh will be the next dean of Sarah Lawrence College in Yonkers, New York. Since 2012 she has been serving as associate dean of the college and previously was a professor of physics at the college for nine years. She will begin her new duties on August 1.
Dr. Singh is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Maryland at College Park. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in theoretical physics from the University of California, Berkeley.
Tammy Beckham was named dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University in Manhattan. She will take on her new role on August 2. Currently, Dr. Beckham is director of the Institute for Animal Infectious Diseases at Texas A&M University in College Station.
