Pomona College, the highly rated liberal arts educational institution in Claremont, California, has announced the promotions of six faculty members to the rank of associate professor. All six faculty members were awarded tenure. Three of the six promotions were awarded to women.
Lisa Anne Auerbach was promoted to associate professor of art. Professor Auerbach’s art includes photography and knitted symbols. She is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York and earned a master of fine arts degree from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.
Jessica L. Borelli was named an associate professor of psychology. Dr. Borelli joined the faculty at Pomona College in 2009. She is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and holds two master’s degrees and a Ph.D. from Yale University.
Julie Tannenbaum was appointed associate professor of philosophy. She joined the college’s faculty in 2009 after teaching at California State University, Northridge. Dr. Tannenbaum is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles and she also earned a Ph.D. in philosophy at UCLA.
With more than 30 years of experience in higher education, Dr. Richtermeyer has spent the past three years as executive vice chancellor for academic affairs and provost at Rutgers University-Camden
Cheryl Norman was appointed president of Ridgewater College in Minnesota and Ellen Kennedy was named interim president of Cape Cod Community College in Massachusetts.
Dr. Scarlatta has led the University of Michigan-Dearbon on an interim basis for the past year. Pending approval from the board of regents, she is slated to become the university's permanent leader on May 22.
Nicole Reaves has been serving as executive vice president and chief programs officer at Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, North Carolina. On July 15, she is slated to become the first woman president of Schenectady County Community College within the State University of New York System.
The selected candidate should have expertise and experience in theoretical models in labor and public economics as well as in microeconometrics and programming.
