The New President of Herkimer County Community College

mcColginCathleen C. McColgin was named president of Herkimer County Community College, a campus of the State University of New York System. About 3,200 students are enrolled at the two-year college. Women make up 62 percent of the student body.

Dr. McColgin, who holds the rank of captain in the U.S. Army Reserve, has been serving as provost and senior vice president for the Educational Services Division at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, New York. Earlier, she was provost of the Fulton campus of Cayuga Community College, another member of the SUNY System.

Dr. McColgin holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing, a master’s degree in psychiatric/mental health nursing, and a doctorate in higher education teaching and administration, all from Syracuse University.
