Three Women Stepping Down From University Posts

LevitJanet Levit, dean of the College of Law at the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma, has announced that she will step down as dean at the end of the academic year. She will stay on at the law school as a professor. Levit has been dean of the law school since 2007.

Dean Levit is a graduate of Princeton University in New Jersey and the Yale Law School. She also holds a master’s degree from Yale University.

0470_14_053.jpgSusan Murphy, vice president for student and academic services at Cornell University, has announced that she will retire on June 30, 2015. She has held her current post since 1994. She will remain at Cornell for another year in a fundraising role.

Dr. Murphy holds bachelor’s and doctoral degrees from Cornell University.

Linda Anderson was named professor of English emerita at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She has been a member of the Virginia Tech community since 1987 and focused her research on William Shakespeare.

Dr. Anderson holds bachelor’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Minnesota.
