Women Appointed Director of Schools at Three U.S. Universities

michellemohrcarneyMichelle Mohr Carney was named director of the School of Social Work at the downtown Phoenix campus of Arizona State University. The school, which enrolls more than 1,3o0 students, is the largest social work school in the southwestern United States. Before accepting this new job, Dr. Carney was a professor in the School of Social Work and director of the Institute for Nonprofit Organizations at the University of Georgia.

Dr. Carney holds a bachelor’s degree and a Ph.D. in social work from Ohio State University. She also earned a master’s degree in social administration from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.

eileenEileen T. Kraemer is the new director of the School of Computing at Clemson University in South Carolina. The school enrolls more than 700 students and has 31 tenured or tenure-track faculty members. Previously, Dr. Kraemer was associate dean of the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Georgia. Earlier in her career, she taught at Washington University in St. Louis.

Dr. Kraemer is a graduate of Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. She earned a Ph.D. in computer science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.

dina_hewett_mediumDina McDade Hewett was appointed director of the School of Nursing at Brenau University in Gainesville, Georgia. She was an executive with St. Mary’s Healthcare System in Athens, Georgia. Earlier in career, Dr. Hewett served on the faculty at Brenau University.

Dr. Hewett is a graduate of Brenau University. She holds a master’s degree from Georgia Southern University and a doctorate in higher education from the University of Georgia.
