When she takes office on July 14, Anne Carson Daly will be the sixth president of Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, New York. The college enrolls about 2,500 undergraduate students and 300 graduate students. Women make up 72 percent of the undergraduate student body.
Since 2007, Dr. Daly has been vice president for academic affairs and dean of the faculty at Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, North Carolina. Earlier in her career, she taught at Johns Hopkins University, the University of Notre Dame, and Georgetown University.
Dr. Daly is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts, where she double majored in English and history. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in English literature from Johns Hopkins University.
