Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, has announced the retirement of four women faculty members. All four women have been granted professor emerita status.
Linda Brion-Meisels was appointed professor emerita of education and psychology. She is a graduate of Grinnell College in Iowa. Professor Brion-Meisels earned a master’s degree at Wheelock College in Boston and a Ph.D. at Boston College.
Judith Beth Cohen was named professor emerita of adult learning. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Michigan and earned a Ph.D. at the Union Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Rosalie Fink was appointed professor emerita of English. She is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and holds a master’s degree from the State University of New York at Cortland and an educational doctorate from Harvard University.
Susan Merrifield is a new professor emerita of English education. She is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Dr. Merrifield holds master’s degrees from Goddard College in Vermont and the University of Maine. She earned an educational doctorate at Harvard University.
Dr. Scarlatta has led the University of Michigan-Dearbon on an interim basis for the past year. Pending approval from the board of regents, she is slated to become the university's permanent leader on May 22.
Nicole Reaves has been serving as executive vice president and chief programs officer at Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, North Carolina. On July 15, she is slated to become the first woman president of Schenectady County Community College within the State University of New York System.
