She has been serving as director of the Office of Administrative Legal Services at the University of Wisconsin, a position she has held since 2008. She has been on the legal staff at the university for 20 years.
Rutherford is a graduate of Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota. She earned her law degree at the University of Wisconsin.
Lisa Brown will become general counsel at Georgetown University on March 1. She has been serving as chief performance officer for the federal government. From 2009 to 2011, she was assistant to the president and was on the senior leadership team controlling which papers reached the desk of the president.
Brown is a graduate of Princeton University, where she majored in political economy. She received her law degree at the University of Chicago.
