Visiting Assistant Professor of Media Studies

The Department of Cinema & Media Studies at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in the field of media studies.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach two courses per semester during the academic year 2026-2027, including a large introductory lecture in media studies in Fall and Spring and a specialized graduate seminar on a topic of the candidate’s choosing. Areas of particular interest include Latin American, African or diasporic media cultures as well as practical experience in media production. Candidates must hold a doctorate and be able to provide evidence of a strong research record (and production experience, if relevant) and a demonstrated commitment to teaching.
