Since assuming her role as dean of the University of Richmond School of Law in 2011, Perdue has helped the school develop new academic offerings, secure new funding, expand its alumni network, and enhance its infrastructure.
Professor Wessells founded the department of dance and choreography at Virginia Commonwealth University. She also held teaching positions with the University of Richmond and Sweet Briar College.
The women appointed to diversity positions are Melanie Duckworth at the University of Nevada Reno, Monica Smith at the University of Richmond, and Mariana Ortega at New Mexico State University.
The award honors neuroscientists who have made significant contributions to educating the public about neuroscience. The award announcement noted that Lambert “deftly merges best practices in education with outstanding science that makes neuroscience accessible, interesting, and fun for both her students and the community at large.”

Her areas of teaching and research include 19th- and 20th-century American visual cultural studies, American cultural history, public culture and community studies, and sensory history.
Jennifer Jones Cavenaugh will become dean of the University of Richmond’s School of Arts & Sciences on July 1. Beronda L. Montgomery has been appointed vice president for academic affairs and dean of Grinnell College in Iowa and Sharon Kuska has been named interim dean of the College of Architecture at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Dr. Neff was appointed provost at the university campus this past spring and she will continue to serve in that role. Before coming to the West Virginia University Institute of Technology, Dr. Neff had been serving as provost and vice president of academic affairs at Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia.
The journal, housed at the University of Southern Mississippi, was founded in 1962. It focuses on the interdisciplinary study of southern culture. Dr. Cochran is an associate professor of English at the University of Southern Mississippi. She has served on the faculty there since 2008.
Mirta M. Martin is the former president of Fort Hays State University in Kansas. From 2009 to 2014, she was a professor of management and dean of the Reginald F. Lewis School of Business at Virginia State University.
Dr. Jacquelyn Fetrow currently serves as vice president of academic affairs at the University of Richmond in Virginia. Earlier, she was the Reynolds Professor of Computational Physics at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
