Four Women Who Have Been Appointed to Lead Libraries at State Universities
Linda Marie Golian-Lui will be the new dean of university libraries at Florida Atlantic University and Stephanie Walker has been appointed as the new dean of University Libraries at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Lori E. Harris will lead the University of Cincinnati Libraries and Donna L. Hayward has been appointed interim university librarian and dean of libraries at the University of Michigan.
Linda Thompson Will Be the Twenty-First President of Westfield State University in Massachusetts
Dr. Thompson has served as dean of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Boston since 2017 and previously held a similar position at West Chester University in Pennsylvania. Earlier, she served as provost and vice-chancellor at North Carolina A&T State University and dean of nursing at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.
Massachusetts College of Art and Design Appoints Mary F. Grant as Its Next President
Dr. Grant currently serves as Senior Administrative Fellow for Civics and Social Justice, leading the Martin Richard Institute for Social Justice and serving as Co-Chair of the President’s Special Task Force on Racial Justice at Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts.

In Memoriam: Betty Jane Diener, 1940-2015
Dr. Diener was the first woman to serve as dean at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. She later served as provost at the University of Massachusetts at Boston and was a professor at the business school at Barry University in Florida.
