Dr. Lundberg has conducted extensive research on labor economics and the economics of the family. Her recent work has centered on the sources of educational inequality and gender gaps in education.
“Maternal and fetal health is influenced not only by medical care but also by the broader social and political environment,” said lead author Kristina Joy Chua of the University of Notre Dame. “And politics definitely plays a significant role in shaping perinatal health.”
Katrina Spencer and Kerry Bierman are the new chief financial officers at Yale University and the University of California, Santa Barbara, respectively. Amy Bantle is chief marketing and communications officer at Washington University in Missouri.
“The pay gap is not about some inherent preference in women for jobs that offer lower wages, but rather it is that we actually do pay women’s occupations less because we devalue women,” said Cate Taylor, associate professor of sociology at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Jennifer Brown has been named interim chancellor of Montana State University-Northern. A scholar of economics, she has served as the university's provost since 2023.
