Roanoke College Will Name a College Building for a Woman for the First Time
Billie Jean Beamer taught health and physical education at Roanoke for 37 years and was an early advocate of women in sports. The college is renaming a residence hall in her honor. It will be the first building on the college’s campus to be named for a women in the institution’s 176-year history.
