In Memoriam: Maria Eduvijes Stallions , 1955-2019

Maria E. Stallions, an associate professor of education at Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia, died last month. She was 63 years old.

Dr. Stallions joined the faculty at Roanoke College in 2008 and was appointed chair of the education department in 2015. In addition to her roles at Roanoke College, Dr. Stallions was president of the Virginia Association of Colleges of Teacher Education and a commissioner on the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation.

Prior to joining the faculty at Roanoke College, Dr. Stalllions taught at Barry University in Miami, Florida, her alma mater. There, she also served as assistant dean of the School of Education.
