Dr. Scherban taught chemistry in Portland Community College for 10 years. Since her retirement in 2019, she has organized an American Chemical Society symposium focused on women in science.
Dr. Fallon comes to her new role from St. John Fisher University in Rochester, New York, where she has served as dean of the School of Arts and Sciences since 2018. Previously, she was provost at Marylhurst University in Oregon.
In 1996, Gordly became the first Black women to be elected to the Oregon State Senate. A decade later, she joined the faculty at Portland State University, where she taught in the Black studies department, created legislative internship opportunities for students, and established a center for mental health services.
Dr. Praskievicz passed away in August following a battle with cancer. She was an associate professor at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she taught and conducted research in the areas of hydrologly, fluvial geomorphology, and water resources.

The new deans are Nicole Leeper Piquero at the University of Maryland, Melissa Cole at John Carroll University in Ohio, Cass Kvenild at the University of Wyoming, Josie Brown at the University of Hartford in Connecticut, and Xan Arch at Portland State University in Oregon.
The six women appointed deans are Tarlika Nunez-Navarro at St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens, Florida, Margie Ferree Jones at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, Melinda Pettigrew at the University of Minnesota, Cynthia Carter Ching at the University of California, Davis, Carol McNulty at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and Junghee Lee at Portland State University in Oregon.
Dr. Oliveros has been serving as the vice president of institutional equity and research and planning at Cosumnes River College in Sacramento. Earlier, she was was the assistant provost for student success initiatives at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and the executive dean of student development and learning resources at Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Oregon.
The new deans are Clementina D. Ceria-Ulep at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, Jackie Krasas at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Kristina K. Bethea Odejimi at Emory University in Atlanta, Jennifer Allen at Portland State University in Oregon, Tina Freiburger at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Yolanda Pierce at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.
Since 2020, Faith has served as director of student financial aid at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Previously, she was associate dean of student engagement and dean of new student transitions at Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon.
