Northwest Vista College in San Antonio, Texas, Names Amy Bosley as Its Next President
Dr. Bosley has been serving as vice president for institutional planning and development, and as chief of staff at Valencia College in Orlando, Florida. Earlier, Dr. Bosley served as vice president of organizational development and human resources at the college. She has also taught communication courses at the graduate level at the University of Central Florida.
Marielena DeSanctis Appointed President of the Community College of Denver
Dr. Desanctis has been serving as provost and senior vice president of academic affairs and student services at Broward College in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Prior to joining Broward College in 2014, Dr. DeSanctis served as the executive director of curriculum for Broward County Public Schools.
Study Finds That Women Doctors Are Often Perceived as Nurses by Hospital Patients
After surveying a large group of patients in an emergency room setting, researchers found that 42 percent of patients thought women doctors were nurses. Both male and female patients had the same level of perception of the role of women physicians in an emergency room setting.
