Terri Shelton was appointed interim provost at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and Malou C. Harrison is the new provost of Miami Dade College in Florida.
In her most recent role, Pumariega has been serving as executive vice president and provost at Tallahassee Community College in Florida. Pumariega was appointed as the first woman and first Hispanic chancellor of the Florida College System in 2015.

Madeline M. Pumariega was appointed chancellor of the Florida College System. The system serves more than 800,000 students at 28 colleges throughout the state of Florida. When she takes office in September, she will be the first woman to hold the position.
